With the launch of their second collection for Nisemonogatari, Australian anime publisher Hanabee Entertainment have finished their four part set of Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari for which they have released one installment each month.
As you may notice from the image above, each of these four DVD sets come with some fairly unique packaging. Rather than just provide a DVD case or artbox with a twist, Hanabee chose to respect the series origins as a light novel and embed the DVD cases into artbooks. Each of these contain around 20 or so pages of artwork / character biographies and other information followed by the discs tucked away in individual sleeves in the back of the book. Having all four on hand, I must say this is a unique twist to the generic case and I look forward to seeing what the company can do with their future releases.
In Australia and New Zealand, Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari are only available on DVD, but the company have confirmed plans for blu-ray sets later this year. Their decision to maintain the similar packaging for the blu-ray sets is currently unknown.
Nisemonogatari Part 2 joins the companies June 2013 release slate also including Mysterious Girlfriend X and Dusk Maiden of Amnesia.
