HoYoverse’s creature-catching RPG Honkai: Nexus Anima is heading into its final closed beta. The Final Closed Beta begins on 25 November 2026 on PC, Android and iOS, and players can sign up now by filling out the recruitment questionnaire on the official website. Places are limited, and don’t fret too much if you don’t make it in, as all player data will be wiped when the test end, leaving everyone with an equal playing field when the game officially launches. The open-world adventure RPG is set to launch in spring 2027, and pre-registration is now open on the App Store.
In the Final Closed Beta, players take on the role of an Animaster and begin a new adventure from the town of Iia. The test includes more of the game’s core story and gameplay than previous tests, adding new chapters along with new characters, some of whom are allies and others rivals, each with their own history and point of view. Iia itself has new areas to explore, including a traditional bank, a high-rise office building and a lighthouse island. Players can also rest in their own RV at any time or build habitats for their Anima while exploring the map.
New Anima are also part of the test. Some can now be found in Chromatic forms, and more juvenile Anima will join players on their journey, allowing them to watch the creatures grow over time. Anima also have new ways of interacting with players, such as holding hands, hugging or lifting them into the air, with more interactions unlocking as players progress. The Eidos Event Bond and Anima Event Bond have been adjusted as well. The first 5-star Eidos or Anima a player obtains is guaranteed to be the current limited one, and getting the current limited Eidos also unlocks its matching Anima Companion for free.
Combat has also been expanded with the new Nexus Arena mode, where players can build any lineup they like, get matched against opponents and climb the ranks. Enemies in the open world and challenge stages have been made tougher too.
