Three characters from Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear -Strive- are on their way to Etheria: Restart. Chinese publisher D Games announced the collaboration at the October TapTap Games Showcase, confirming the trio will join the turn-based RPG’s roster as Animuses from a new faction. Further details on the collaboration, along with the game’s next season, SS7, will be shared at a later date.
Before then, Etheria: Restart has moved into SS6.4 Eidolon Scourge, which is now live worldwide. The new HYPA Season serves as the extended finale of the SS6 Pyrite Nyx anniversary season and runs until 2 December 2026.
The headline addition is Thalos, the vice-captain of the Elysian faction’s Third Manhunter Corps. He is a defence-oriented support Animus designed to take damage in place of his allies, while wearing enemies down with Damage-Over-Time abilities such as Infernal Flame. Thalos is immune to control effects, and if he falls in battle he can revive himself on a later turn with a percentage of his max HP restored. A limited-time “Prowess Up” event is running alongside his debut, with exclusive in-game rewards for players who max out Thalos’ potential.
PvP players have a new format to try in the Summit Arena. The affinity-restricted draft asks players to choose from a set of character affinity combinations at the start of each match, and they can then only field characters that match that affinity for the bout. Win points have also been increased for this Summit Arena Special Season, and players below Platinum rank will no longer lose points when they lose a match, making it easier to climb towards Legend status.
Rounding out the update are a new auto-matched arena event, a new banner pull event and the Seneschal Chaku, a “smart-butler” feature that lets players claim rewards from dailies, make one-click purchases from shops and more.
