Devolver Digital and developer Nerial have announced a collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED to produce a new entry in the Reigns franchise. Titled Reigns: The Witcher, this new game transports the swipe-based decision-making gameplay of the original series into the setting of the popular RPG universe. The title is scheduled for release on PC and mobile devices on 25 February 2026.
In this instalment, players will take on the role of the monster slayer Geralt of Rivia, albeit in a narrative presented through the perspective of the bard Dandelion. The game utilises the established mechanics of the Reigns series, where players make binary decisions by swiping left or right on a series of cards. These choices determine the trajectory of the story, affecting Geralt’s standing with various groups such as nobles and mages, as well as managing dangerous situations involving monsters.
The production features appearances from established characters in the franchise, including Yennefer, Triss, and Vesemir. As the story is framed as a retelling by Dandelion, the events may be subject to the bard’s own embellishments, ranging from mundane errands to exaggerated epics.
Beyond the core narrative choices, the game includes combat minigames. These segments are designed to pit Geralt against creatures from the series lore, such as ghouls and rotfiends.
