While they had been looking at an “Early 2017” release date when they first announced their plans to localise and publish the tactical RPG in western markets, Nippon Ichi Software America have confirmed that God Wars: Future Past is now available for purchase on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

God Wars: Future Past sets out to explore an untold history of Japan, weaved through a combination of folklore and tactical combat. According to NIS America, you will be able to “discover the wonder that has captivated orators, storytellers, and generations of people.

As a tactical RPG, you will be able to guide 14 playable characters through the story, customising them with more than 30 classes (with 400+ skills) and 250 unique pieces of equipment.

This game will have downloadable content, distributed through free weekly bundles. Currently, the line-up is as follows:

Kaguya’s Equipment Set
Release Date – June 20

This content adds a set of equipment, which includes:

  • God Bow
  • God Hood
  • God Robe

Additional Scenario 1
Release Date – June 27

This content adds an additional story and battle once you have finished the main story.


Additional Scenario 2
Release Date – July 5

This content adds an additional story and battle once you have finished the main story. You must complete Additional Scenario 1 in order to access Additional Scenario 2.
