tri-Ace’s gun action RPG Resonance of Fate/End of Eternity is back again. Resonance of Fate/End of Eternity Enhanced Remaster launched digitally on PS5 and Steam on 29th October 2026, bringing the game to PS5 with improved visuals and a new option to play at double speed.
How you get the remaster depends on where you play. The remaster is coming to PS5; on Steam, it’s a DLC. If you already have Resonance of Fate/End of Eternity 4K/HD Edition, you can simply buy the DLC to upgrade to the remaster. New players will have to buy the base game and the DLC.
The headline feature is the visuals. Textures for towns, characters, and the like have all been upscaled for improved rendering quality,, and there’s a decimation filter in the settings menu that can be turned on to sharpen fine details (like hair) beyond what the 4K/HD edition could do. The other new feature is a 2x Game Speed option, which runs field exploration, battles, and events at twice the normal speed.
The game first came out in 2010, with a 4K/HD Edition released in 2018. It’s set in a distant future on a ruined Earth where humanity is on the brink of extinction. To save the planet, people built a huge machine called Basel and gave it the power to control the cycle of life and death. The story follows Zephyr, Vashyron and Leanne who are three mercenaries who begin to uncover the secrets of their world and their own fates as they take on new jobs.
Combat centres on Hero Action, a battle system with plenty of tactical depth and action. The story aims to blend the ridiculous with the very real, set against a world in decline. Kohei Tanaka and Motoi Sakuraba composed the music.
