One of the staple gameplay elements of any Fallout video game is the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agilty, Luck) system, which defines a character’s base attributes for the game ahead. Are they strong but not that lucky? Are they intelligent and perceptive but aren’t that sociable? Depending on where players distribute the limited number of points they are given, the best approach to tackling a challenge can potentially change.
Over the past few weeks, Bethesda Softworks have been sharing a series of themed instructional videos surrounding the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. With the goal of providing information with some in-universe Vault-Tec charm, this educational video series seeks to help others understand the seven defining attributes that make them S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Previous videos have focused on the S (Strength), P (Perception), E (Endurance) and C (Charisma).
For their fifth video, they have focused on Intelligence, which is the key to unlocking new opportunities in the wasteland. This stat will also allow your character be be more inventive.
Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout 4 is set for release on current generation gaming platforms (PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) beginning November 10 2015.
