One of the staple gameplay elements of any Fallout video game is the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agilty, Luck) system, which defines a character’s base attributes for the game ahead. Are they strong but not that lucky? Are they intelligent and perceptive but aren’t that sociable? Depending on where players distribute the limited number of points they are given, the best approach to tackling a challenge can potentially change.
Although not providing even a glimpse of new in-game footage for Fallout 4, Bethesda Softworks have begun sharing a new set of trailers surrounding the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system. These videos will provide some in-universe Vault-Tec charm, as this educational video series seeks to help others understand the seven defining attributes that make them S.P.E.C.I.A.L. The first video surrounds Strength, which controls the ability of a character to carry heavy loads and perform melee combat.
Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout 4 is set for release on current generation gaming platforms (PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) beginning November 10 2015.
