Set to take place for 10 days only starting January 7 2016, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) have announced that Cirque Adrenaline – which is from the producers of The Illusionists and Le Noir – will be performed in the QPAC Concert Hall as part of their summer line-up.
Claiming to have some of the “world’s most dangerous and death-defying acts”, Cirque Adrenaline will transform the Concert Hall into a high octane circus arena. Each performer has been handpicked, with the goal of creating a new genre of show that blends traditional circus acts with the new, to create something which keeps the whole family on the edge of their seats. Cirque Adrenaline has a troupe of 30 performers, many of whom are former stars of Cirque du Soleil.
Acts include the clown and emcee Dizzy (Darren Partridge), daredevil motorcyclists who narrowly miss each other in the Sphere of Fear, Angelo Lyerzkysky Rodriguez and Carlos Mayorga on the Wheel of Death, trapeze artists, hair-raising fire acts, high bars and aerial silk, plus a number of others.
Producer Simon Painter had this to say on the announcement:
We are beyond excited to be bringing Cirque Adrenaline to Brisbane this summer. Witnessing the world’s highest, fastest and most dangerous acts in the spectacular setting of the QPAC Concert Hall will be a truly breathtaking experience. With a cast of over 30 elite athletes from all four corners of the globe we are absolutely delighted to present this roller-coaster Cirque extravaganza that is perfect entertainment for the entire family.
Tickets for this show are set to go on sale from October 12 2015, with ten shows planned from January 7 to 17.
