Amulets will give Photon Blasts class-specific effects in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis version 2, with SEGA detailing the new equipment type alongside Halloween ’26 festivities, a 32-player combat challenge and another weapon upgrade path. The announcements come from the latest NGS Headline WAVE broadcast for the free-to-play online action RPG. Amulets feature Preset Skills that activate with Photon Blasts, with ten effects corresponding to the game’s ten Main Classes. Each also carries four Augments for additional stat enhancements.
Players can acquire Amulets by taking part in Limited-Time Urgent Quests, Limited-Time Quests and other activities, all of which come with a Preset Skill at level 1 or above. The Wanted Item List allows players to keep track of Amulets that have their preferred effects. Progression for equipment also applies to the 15-star Dracillusion weapon line; these weapons are upgraded from the current 15-star Ascillusion series and thus have stronger stats as well as improved Potentials. To carry out this process, players need Granillusion Volt II, a material that can be obtained via Limited-Time Quests and other content.
SEGA is carrying out enhancement support programmes together with a Treasure Shop sale. This sale features items such as Evaltovance and Granillusion Volt I, and there is also a separate campaign concerned with weapon enhancements for the Granillusion and Levarenz series. For those players who want to put their equipment into use, Altered Investigation: Northeast Plains Area offers a co-operative encounter for up to 32 players in Alter Realm Exploration: Interception Sectors. The High Enemies appear at regular intervals, the time between their arrivals being used to fight ordinary enemies and to complete Trials in order to weaken the coming threats.
There are now two new Trials, Specified Enemy Hunt and Super Alter Factor Activation, which provide additional chances to lower High Enemy strength. This mission also features High Nex and High Herzig, who are bosses derived from Nex Vera and Herzig respectively and have different attack patterns as well as higher stats. When Alter Dromes are defeated, Alter Battery Chargers are obtained, and these give a temporary M.A.R.S. Alter Boost when accessed.
Halloween ’26, meanwhile, brings pumpkin Region Mags and seasonal decorations to Central City, with Reaper Rappy and Trickertreat Emperappy returning to Halpha. Xiemi serves as the event navigator, investigating the enemies appearing across the region. The seasonal Urgent Quest, Haunted Domain II ’26, centres on the Mobile Cannon ECS. Its Aberrant Mutants can only be damaged by specific elements, so players must collect Elemental Bullets around the battlefield and switch the cannon’s element accordingly. For this quest, the cannon receives increased Elemental Bullet storage and an easier-to-charge Bullet Boost gauge, alongside powerful Charged Blasts for attacking groups.
Seasonal rewards include the Dustyl’s Hammer accessory and Jack-o’-Lantern Mobile B and Rappy-o’-Lantern Build Parts. Halloween ’26 SP Scratch tickets, obtainable through the Seasonal Points Exchange Shop and Limited-Time Quests, offer rewards including the Fahren Almati and Curio Miracle Magic Weapon Camos. A separate Reward Box contains Halloween accessories, and players earn Thankful Scratch Tickets for clearing it.
Away from the combat additions, SEGA has scheduled a Chapter 9 side story for today. Set after the Control Tower battle, it follows Lucia as she adjusts to everyday life on Halpha and begins to change.
