While many delays have befallen The Witch and the Hundred Knights over the last couple of years, Nippon Ichi Software are soon set to release it upon store shelves in Japan on the 25th July 2013. The reason for these delays (in comparison to an original release date of June 2012) stems from a number of reasons from perfection of gameplay mechanics to the shift from their usual 2D graphics mechanics to 3D graphics.

The company have recently released a new set of screenshots for the title, which showcases gameplay footage in what appears to be a bright and vibrant forest area. Of course, they have not fully ditched their anime style visuals and we are also treated to some screenshots from their visual novel dialogue system and character artwork of the story-important characters.

Nippon Ichi Software America have already in the past confirmed plans for an international release, although no release date has been confirmed as of this post. Perhaps E3 2013 will hold the release date….
