Even though it has been in alpha testing for years and there is no indication of when a final release will be available, Cloud Imperium Games’ space-sim game Star Citizen is already fulfilling that childhood dream of one day travelling among the stars. One thing I really adore in the game so far is the attention to going into the ship interiors, with different ship manufacturers having different styles from the utilitarian theme of Roberts Space Industries ships to the luxury one can expect from Origin Jumpworks.
The one style in Star Citizen I don’t really like is that of Drake Interplanetary with its exposed mechanics and more militaristic aesthetics. While coming down to personal tastes, I am more about luxury and super modern designs. That said, the Drake Herald is one of my favourite single-seater ships – with its small, and cramped styling built for the secure and quick transmission of encrypted data from Point A to Point B. I do look forward to a time in the future where I will be travelling around the galaxy with previous data stored on my servers.

The two photos today are of the Drake Herald’s interior, showcasing just how much attention to detail the development team put into this ship.
Take That (In-Game) Snap Daily Photo is an off-shoot of the upcoming Take That (In-Game) Snap article series, which looks at, celebrates and critiques how video game developers have implemented professional photography-like systems into their games, how the systems handle, just how accessible they are and, where applicable, how a modding community might be making these tools even better. With this Daily Photo spin-off series, I will be sharing individual photos from the games either covered or soon-to-be-covered in the series.
