With Honkai: Star Rail releasing its first official post-launch update since launch, Version 1.1: Galactic Roaming, this morning, players now have their chance to pray to lady-luck and possibly walk away with two brand new 5-star characters in the coming month-and-a-bit: the gamer-girl Stellaron Hunter Silver Wolf and the gentleman-with-a-coffin Luocha. In the first half of this update’s lifecycle, players will be able to recruit the former as part of the special ‘Contract Zero’ warp (gacha) banner, alongside increased rates of three 4-star characters: Dan Heng, Asta and Serval.
While I failed my most recent hard pity, albeit receiving Welt who is also a kind of cool character as the only Imaginary element user available to date, my despair was quickly resolved when I pulled Silver Wolf on the same banner. While time will tell how well she handles in the Honkai: Star Impact meta, one promising element of her playstyle is the ability Allow Changes?, which at its base level gives her a 75% chance of giving a single targeted enemy an additional elemental weakness to one member of your party. If you are like me and have been running a Quantum x Lightning party composition as a default, this shall hopefully mitigate the issues when none of your party members are strong against your opponents.
Plus, if you haven’t seen it already, her character preview trailer is the best so far for Honkai: Star Rail.
Developed by HoYoverse, the same company behind Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail is a free-to-play turn-based tactical RPG which can now be downloaded on PC (via direct download, Steam or the Epic Games Store), Android (via Google Play) or iOS (via the App Store). A PlayStation version for either or both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 is also in the works, to be released at an unspecified date in the future. Just do keep in mind that this game does feature a luck-based gacha system for pulling characters, dubbed the Warp System, which may not be ideal for those who have issues with gambling or experienced uncontrolled spending in similar games.
