Let’s be quite honest, 2020 hasn’t been the best of years for humanity. Not only has the world been ravaged by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon, but different parts of the world have also been impacted by significant bushfires, political turmoil, uncertainty around Brexit and the increased prevalence of ‘Alternative Facts’ which has threatened a positive outcome from all of these.
2021 will not start easily either, and how it progresses will depend on how communities remain COVID Safe and align themselves with vaccination efforts when they come to each country. This may be hopeful thinking from someone who lives in a country/state where coronaviruses are far and few between, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel – and we have all got to do our best to reach it!
With that doom and gloom out of the way, however, I would like to take a few moments to thank everyone for joining me on this journey in 2020. Unfortunately, during 2016-2019, due to real-life work pressure, I had to put The Otaku’s Study on an indefinite hiatus, which concluded in October 2019. I have enjoyed being back and doing what I genuinely love, and hope to bring you so much more content in the site’s 15th Anniversary year.
I have many plans for The Otaku’s Study over the coming year, with a greater emphasis on unique content creation through live photography, interviews, more frequent reviews, in-depth articles and more. With live performance slowly being able to resume in some states, expect to see a lot more from The Theatre Sphere as well!
Until then, I wish everyone an amazing start to 2021. Be sure to eat well, laugh lots, stay safe, be merry, don’t let anyone bring you down, and accomplish everything you can!
