Based on the original manga series by Minari Endoh and previously known as “Dazzle” in the Tokyopop English manga released back in the day, North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have announced they now hold the rights to the Hatenkou Yugi anime adaptation.
Originally released in 2008, this is a comedy-fantasy anime series, which follows the journey of 15 year old Rahzel Anadis. Having been kicked out of home with the words “Don’t you wanna set the world a little”, she finds herself travelling from town to town. But her journey is off to a rough start when she’s joined by Alzeid, a young man seeking revenge for his father’s murder. The two do have a few things in common: they can both use magic, and they both despise each other. Despite their animosity, Rahzel and Alzeid travel together, helping people in other cities and discovering what it really means to “see the world.”
This anime was directed by Nobuhiro Takamoto, with series composition handled by Yasuhiro Imagawa and animation production by Studio DEEN.
As this is an older title, I would expect to see this on store shelves by the end of this year. It will also be made available soon via select video-on-demand services.
