Six Weeks Into Sentai Filmworks’ “Anime of the Season” Community Votes and WATAMOTE Reigns Supreme

-

With nine different anime acquisitions under their belt for this season of anime, all of which are being streamed via one or more digital distribution services – Sentai Filmworks have been asking their fans which title has been their favourite each week.

These community voting opportunities have been running weekly and despite Sunday Without God managing to tie in Round 4 (2nd August 2013 round), it is WATAMOTE (Watashi ga Motenai no wa dō Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui! / 私がモテないのはどう考えてもお前らが悪い! ) that has managed to stay on top of the listings each and every week.

While online voting is susceptible to misleading votes (Hint: Find an online news poll regarding the “vaccination debate” and you will see the value fluctuate as anti and pro vaccination camps vary considerably even in a short period of time), this may be one factor in Sentai Filmworks determining what receives an English Dub and / or blu-ray release instead of the standard Japanese dub w/ DVD release.

The nine titles acquired by Sentai Filmworks for this season are:

  • Stella Women’s Academy, High School Division Class C3
  • Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East Season 2
  • Dog & Scissors
  • Rozen Maiden ~ Zurückspulen
  • Fantasista Doll
  • Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya
  • KINMOZA!
  • WATAMOTE
  • Sunday Without God
