Aussie Fans of Puella Magi Madoka Magica Keep the 9th December 2012 Free - Madman Entertainment to Hold Theatrical Release of Both Films 1In collaboration with Aniplex of America, Madman Entertainment have today announced the acquisition of and very limited theatrical release of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Movies. Both Part 1: Beginnings and Part 2: Eternal, which retell the stories of the original anime series are set to premiere in cinemas across four states on the 9th December 2012.

Unfortunately unlike other countries around the world, this will be a very limited ONE DAY screening in Sydney (Dendy Newtown), Melbourne (Cinema Nova), Brisbane (Dendy Portside) and Canberra (Dendy Canberra). You can purchase tickets for these double-screenings from the venues.

PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA follows the story of a young girl named Madoka Kaname. One fateful day, Madoka is offered the opportunity to gain magical powers if she agrees to make a contract with a strange little being known as a Kyubey. The Kyubey will also grant Madoka one wish, but in exchange she shall risk her life by accepting the responsibility of fighting witches. Little does Madoka know the real risks of what this contract has in-store for her.

The not-so-typical story of Madoka Kaname and her choice to become a ‘magical girl’ has taken the world by storm – becoming one of the most loved anime properties of 2011/2012. Part 1 and Part 2 of the MADOKA MAGICA movies retell the plot of the original TV series, and will provide a fantastic experience for both fans who have enjoyed the TV series or those who are just seeing it for the first time.

Can’t make it to see the films? Madman have confirmed they will be releasing them on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download at an unspecified date in 2013.
