Square Enix has confirmed that its first permanent cafe and merchandise location in the United States will begin welcoming guests in Los Angeles this month, offering a dining and retail space themed around the company’s game franchises.
The venue is taking a two-stage approach to its launch. A soft opening is scheduled for Saturday 13 June, during which visitors will be able to order from a reduced menu of drinks, entrees and desserts drawn from franchises including Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and NieR:Automata. The complete menu arrives with the grand opening on Saturday 20 June.
In addition to the cafe, a separate merchandise shop will also be available, with no dining reservation or cafe purchase required for entry. Stock includes official Square Enix products alongside location-exclusive items such as the L.A. Chocobo T-Shirt and L.A. Slime T-Shirt, both featuring commemorative artwork produced to mark the opening of the company’s first permanent cafe and shop in the country.
Reservations are open for both the soft opening and the grand opening through the RSVP section of the official Square Enix Cafe & Shop Los Angeles website. The officially licensed Square Enix Cafe & Shop Los Angeles is located at 316 E 1st St., Los Angeles, California 90012, and is operated by J-Pop Culture Cafe Inc.
