Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero to Receive New Major DLC and Updates in 2026

During the recent Genkidamatsuri event, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced a roadmap of upcoming content for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. The announcement detailed a mix of free updates and paid downloadable content scheduled for release throughout the year, including new game modes, character additions, and cosmetic items.

Owners of the game can expect the introduction of a new solo mode titled “Mission 100” as a free update. This mode tasks players with completing 100 battles, each featuring specific conditions for both the player’s team and their opponents. Long-time fans of the franchise may recognise this format, as it is similar to a mode previously featured in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Following the release of Mission 100, another free update is scheduled for launch this spring which will add a “Survival Mode” to the game.

On the paid content front, the roster is set to expand later this year. Confirmed upcoming characters include Super 17, Bardock (Super Saiyan), and King Piccolo. These additions will be accompanied by new costumes and stages. Further character reveals are expected at a later date.

The developers also highlighted a significant musical contribution for the upcoming DLC has also been confirmed. Veteran artist Hironobu Kageyama will perform the new theme song, marking his first contribution to the Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! series in 18 years. Kageyama has handled both the lyrics and composition for the track, which is described as a powerful piece designed to match the intensity of the game’s battles.

The new DLC content is slated to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this year. Meanwhile, players on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 will see DLC from the Season Pass beginning this winter, with additional content to follow.
