Bandai Namco Entertainment has unveiled the Season 2 roadmap for Tekken 8, confirming that Anna Williams will be the first of four planned downloadable content (DLC) characters to join the game over the coming year. This lineup will also include an all-new original character.
Anna Williams, known as the “Scarlet Lightning,” made her debut in the original Tekken and will become available through early access on 1 April 2025 for those who hold the Season 2 Character & Stage Pass or Season 2 Character Pass. Her official release for all players is scheduled for 4 April 2025.
The release of Anna Williams will expand the playable roster to 37 characters. In Tekken 8, she continues her long-standing rivalry with her sister Nina Williams, bringing her assassin skills and signature style back to the series.
Following Anna’s release, Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed that three additional DLC characters and two new stages will launch throughout 2025, with planned updates arriving seasonly.
Season 2 will also introduce a range of system updates, including balance changes for all fighters and revisions to the Rank Match system. These updates will reset leaderboards and introduce eight new high-tier ranks. Players will begin the season with an updated rank, matched according to the highest-ranked character in their roster. Additionally, the “Tekken Power” matching system will be removed as part of these changes.
Tekken 8 is developed by Bandai Namco Studios, and is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
