A new original standalone single player story in the Alien multimedia franchise, developer Survios shared their first look at the gameplay of Alien: Rogue Incursion during the recent PlayStation State of Play livestream event. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the game, exclusive to the PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) via the PlayStation 5, will be available this coming holiday season.
Alien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player, action-horror game with a new storyline, developed using Unreal Engine 5. Players will see themselves navigating a facility overrun by Xenomorphs on the hostile planet Purdan. The game aims to put an emphasis on high tension and unpredictability, with Xenomorphs spawning dynamically, making their attacks and strategies hard to predict and always keeping players on the edge.
Combat in Alien: Rogue Incursion involves more than just firepower. While the pulse rifle is a key tool, players will need creativity and composure to survive, using the environment to their advantage against the resourceful and relentless Xenomorphs.
Alien: Rogue Incursion is the latest in a long line of video games adapting the popular multimedia franchise, the first being Alien on the Atari 2600 back in 1982. It is set for release on the PlayStation 5 for the PlayStation VR2 sometime during the Holiday 2024 season.
