The story of Cronos: The New Dawn is heading back in time. Bloober Team has confirmed that Cronos: Lazarus, the upcoming DLC for last year’s third-person survival horror game, launches on 3 December 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for Q1 2027.
Set before the events of the original game, Lazarus puts players in the role of the Pathfinder, an elite agent of the Collective, and follows the events that led to his transformation into the Warden. Along the way, the DLC explores his past and reveals more about the Collective and what happens to those who defy it.
The Pathfinder is not alone. He is being hunted by the Tracker, an envoy sent by the Collective to stop him before he can complete a revival mission that the organisation must never find out about. A new story trailer, released alongside the date announcement, shows the confrontation between the two.
Lazarus keeps the oppressive atmosphere, intense encounters and resource-based survival of the base game, but leans towards faster-paced and more aggressive combat that rewards quick thinking and tactical play. The Pathfinder has new abilities to help with that, including teleportation for quickly repositioning and a decoy that distracts enemies while making him briefly invisible. He also wields the Gladius, a new weapon that is faster and deadlier than the dagger from the original game. New enemies also feature in the expansion.
