Monster Train 2‘s final piece of post-launch content has a release date. Developer Shiny Shoe and publisher Big Fan have announced that The Punished, a paid DLC adding a new Clan, launches on 10 November on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for $7.99 or local equivalent.
Mobile and Nintendo Switch 2 players will get their turn soon. Monster Train 2 is set to arrive on iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, and The Punished will be available on those platforms as well.
The new Clan is led by Archus, Darkness Incarnate, a playable warrior whose strength lies in turning The Punished’s suffering into power during combat. Playing as The Punished gives players the option to sacrifice cards to the Monolith, which builds Devotion and strengthens the Clan’s units through Zeal. This triggers powerful effects and buffs that help make up for the damage The Punished take, and the more damage they suffer, the stronger they become.
The Punished will be the last of Monster Train 2’s post-launch content updates. Previous additions included several free updates for all players, along with the Destiny of the Railforged DLC, which added a new game mode and challenge among other content.
