Spire Games has released Advent: Dawn, a psychological science fiction mystery visual novel, for PC, Linux and Mac via Steam. The game is available with English language support.
The story follows neuroscientist Dr. Atlas Everly, who becomes trapped within a vast cave system beneath a remote island. With no clear route to the surface, Everly must work alongside six strangers while questioning their motives and attempting to manage growing tensions within the group.
As the survivors search for an escape, they encounter a subterranean labyrinth filled with living crystals. Players will explore the darkened caverns, solve environmental puzzles and uncover clues about the sinister events taking place beneath the island.
Choices made throughout the story lead into different character routes and possible endings. An interactive flowchart allows players to return to key decision points, making it possible to investigate alternative outcomes. Discovering every ending is necessary to reach the game’s true conclusion and reveal the full truth behind the island.
Spire Games said the visual novel explores fear, trust and the risks involved in forming emotional connections with unfamiliar people.
Advent: Dawn touches on some of our deepest-held fears; being trapped in a dark cave is only the beginning. This is a game about trust and emotional bonds, and what’s on the line when you put your faith in someone you don’t know. I hope fans are encouraged to explore the why in a story that will stay with them long after the credits roll.
