Capcom used the recent PlayStation State of Play broadcast to debut a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, providing a look at the monsters, setting, story and gameplay additions coming to the expansion. The footage established the events that set the narrative in motion, with the Forbidden Lands Expedition Team attacked by the colossal Elder Dragon Lao-Shan Lung following the main story of Monster Hunter Wilds, prompting construction of the Madoi Stronghold ahead of its expected return, while the receding mists over Wyveria reveal the Skybound Eyrie, a new locale above the clouds housing ancient ruins and undiscovered endemic life. The trailer also confirmed that Nata now supports the Expedition Team alongside Bangard, a Wudwud fond of the young Keeper, and introduced two monsters in the pack-hunting Araketa, which uses air currents from its wings for high-speed flight and is coordinated by pack leaders through distinctive calls, and the serpentine Elder Dragon Gundoraja, capable of bending storms to its will. Rounding out the reveal was a closer look at the Boost Bracer, equipment that temporarily grants new attacks, combos and mobility options, with further weapon abilities and mechanics to be detailed ahead of the expansion's 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.
