A new short trailer for Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars, a mixed-reality experience set in the world of Andy Weir’s bestselling sci-fi novel, gives a first look at the ship’s interiors, ranging from early environments through to finished models that players will come to know during the game.
Players take on the role of Ryland Grace in an original chapter of the Hail Mary mission, with James Ortiz reprising his role as Rocky. The story sees Grace and Rocky, friends and crewmates, working together in the face of disaster to keep the Hail Mary in one piece and deliver their world-saving cargo to Eridani, Rocky’s home planet and Grace’s new home.
As a mixed-reality experience, the game blends the player’s own physical surroundings with the interior of the Hail Mary. Players will need to diagnose failing systems, come up with improvised scientific solutions and manage the ship and its cargo as they travel through space, all while deep space becomes increasingly unpredictable.
The game focuses on trust, communication and the first true friendship between species, offering a new perspective on the cinematic world shaped by filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars launches globally in the coming months on PICO, Android XR and Meta Quest 3/3S.
