A week after launch, Escape From Playtime is already getting changes based on player feedback. Mob Entertainment has released a new update for the game, which launched on 21 October 2026, and has shared an early look at what is coming next. The biggest change in the update is the addition of public lobbies. Players no longer need to set up a group in advance or share lobby codes, and can instead queue up, find a group or create their own lobby, with groups of two to eight players supported.
Mob has also adjusted session and shift timing in response to feedback, rebalancing the difficulty so that smaller groups, who have fewer hands to do the work, can complete full shifts. For players interested in the story, 12 new notes have been hidden around the factory, alongside strange posters on the walls and VHS tapes scattered throughout the facility, with no explanation yet as to who left them there or why.

Looking further ahead, Mob’s early roadmap includes more lore through discoverable artefacts, tutorial updates with a guided shift for beginners, further balancing of group size and timing difficulty, new items, cosmetics and emotes, more puzzles and challenges, and updates to gameplay and enemies.
