Continuing their foray into bringing the Disgaea franchise into different genres, Nippon Ichi Software America (NIS America) has announced Prinny Party: Going Overboard!, a four-player party game heading to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
In this party game, players take control of a group of Prinnies attempting to defeat the Supreme Overboard and his Protago-Knights. During each match, participants move around a board, gain experience, collect stronger equipment and complete quests before confronting bosses as they appear. Although players must cooperate to bring down each boss, only the person who brings the boss back to the spawn point receives credit. This creates a competitive element in which temporary alliances can quickly give way to arguments over who claims the victory.
Throwing is a central part of the game, allowing players to pick up and hurl friends, enemies and other characters around the board. The entire group must also avoid being defeated at the same time, as this will end the game for everyone. Players can construct and upgrade facilities by landing on designated build spaces. These include hospitals and armouries, although any facilities created can also be used by rival players. The Assembly system provides further ways to change the course of a match. Passing bills can triple a player’s damage, grant another move or construct a cannon capable of attacking powerful demons.

Prinny Party: Going Overboard! will also support features like GameShare, allowing friends to join a session even when they do not own their own copy of the game.
