Indonesian indie studio Glory Jam has announced that its heavy metal action roguelite, Grim Trials, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. A demo is available now through the Nintendo eShop for the platform.
Grim Trials is built around weapon crafting and customisation. Rather than offering pre-set loadouts, Grim Trials lets players build and remix their own weapons and equipment in real time, mixing and matching parts and testing the results in the arena.
The game will see players take the role of Avelin, a young woman who has met an untimely end and been recruited as one of Death’s Reapers. Her tasks include hunting down impure souls, facing her demons, and fighting through an underworld of her own making. To become a full-fledged Reaper, and to see her still-living love again, Avelin must endure a series of trials. The studio pitches the narrative as a story of love, loss, and redemption set against the psychological landscape of a soul in turmoil.
Grim Trials is set to release in the future for both PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
