Battlefield Studios has released a comprehensive roadmap for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, detailing the content updates planned for the remainder of 2026. The schedule includes three distinct seasons of content, the return of fan-favourite maps from previous entries, and the reintroduction of naval-focused combat mechanics.
Season 3 is set to begin in May 2026 and will feature a reimagining of a classic location titled Railway to Golmud. This map is situated in Tajikistan and serves as a follow-up to the events of the game’s campaign. At nearly four times the size of Mirak Valley, it is currently the largest environment designed for Battlefield 6.
This season will also introduce Cairo Bazaar, which is a modernised version of the Grand Bazaar map from Battlefield 3. Additionally, REDSEC will debut its first Ranked Play experience within the Battle Royale Quads playlist, which will be adjusted in the future based on player feedback.
During the middle of the year, Season 4 will bring Naval Warfare back to both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. The update includes a new map called Tsuru Reef, which focuses on large-scale air and sea engagements. This environment introduces aircraft carriers with operational flight decks and a dynamic wave system intended to change the nature of ocean-based combat. The classic Wake Island map is also scheduled for a return during this period alongside new naval vehicles.
The final update of the year, Season 5, will take players to a brand-new setting for the franchise. This update is expected to deliver a total of three maps within the single season.
Beyond seasonal content, the developer is working on several technical additions and quality of life improvements. Priority features slated for release throughout the year include a Server Browser with Persistent Servers, a spectator mode, leaderboards, and the implementation of proximity chat. Following the launch and evaluation of the Ranked Play system, Battlefield Studios also plans to introduce the Open and Elite competitive series to facilitate global tournaments.
