The physical retail versions of the action beat ’em up Marvel Cosmic Invasion have officially launched, with the title now available for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. This release provides fans with the choice between a standard physical copy and a specialized Deluxe Edition.
The game features a roster of 15 playable heroes tasked with defending the galaxy against the Annihilation Wave. Players can take control of characters such as Wolverine, Spider-Man, Captain America, Nova, and Phyla-Vell as they travel from the streets of New York City to the Negative Zone. A central mechanic of the experience is the Cosmic Swap tag-team system. This allows players to bring two heroes into each level and switch between them instantly to execute unique combinations and specialized attacks.
The title seeks to adopt a retro-inspired aesthetic that utilizes full-colour pixel art to pay homage to classic eras of Marvel history. To facilitate cooperative play, the game includes an intuitive multiplayer system that supports both local and online sessions. This system features drop-in and drop-out functionality, allowing players to join or leave games seamlessly.
In addition to the base game, the Deluxe Edition has been released with several physical collectibles. Housed in a collectable tuck-in box, this version includes a steelbook case, premium artcards, sticker sheets, and a poster.
