Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that Code Vein II, the sequel to their 2019 action RPG, will be welcoming in 2026 – receiving a global release date of 30 January 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the action RPG follows a new Revenant Hunter who can wield time as a tool, shifting between past and present versions of locations to alter fates and uncover a broader conflict threatening the remnants of humanity.
Newly shared footage showcases traversal that moves beyond on-foot exploration. Players can summon the Motorcycle Forma to cut through larger spaces, including the Sunken City, a flooded region ruled by Revenant Josée Anjou. The reveal also introduces Lou MagMell, a Revenant who revives the protagonist with her own heart and joins as a key ally with the ability to travel through time.
Combat builds on the original’s mix of mobility and resource management with a reworked Partner System that offers two modes. Summoning lets companions operate independently to herd enemies and set up openings. Assimilation merges a partner with the Hunter for stat boosts and high-impact attacks, enabling faster shifts between crowd control and burst damage.
The toolset expands further with returning and new Jails, weaponized abilities that change your move set. The Hound Jail reprises its role as a finishing strike that calls spectral wolves to drain Ichor. The Reaper Jail equips a sweeping scythe with counter options for punishing timing. Formae add layered offensive and defensive skills, while Bequeathed Formae grant unique weapons such as the Absolute Executioner, a colossal greatsword designed for single, devastating blows.
Narratively, Code Vein II leans into blood ties and branching destinies. As the Revenant Hunter, players intervene at pivotal moments in history to redirect the paths of key figures and reveal hidden truths. Core systems return with refinements, including blood drained from enemies to unlock abilities, configurable Blood Codes for build crafting, and a progression framework that supports both weapon specialization and ability-driven play.
Character creation aims to remain a headline feature. The sequel promises extensive options for body type, hairstyles, facial features, accessories and makeup.
