The roadmap highlights gameplay refinements, new content, and system upgrades designed to enhance the player experience in the upcoming Closed Alpha 2 test, scheduled for later this season.

For the next playtest, Wolcen Studio is implementing several key gameplay enhancements and content additions:

  • Dodge Roll – A new default mechanic allows players to evade enemy attacks with precise movement.
  • Weapon & Gear Customisation – Players can now assign abilities to weapons and armour, providing greater flexibility in combat styles.
  • Crafting & Durability – Equipment now degrades over time, requiring repairs at the Sanctuary. Players can also craft runes to enhance their gear.

New Content

  • New Weapon: The Staff – A magical weapon bringing fresh combat options.
  • Dungeons – High-risk, high-reward zones featuring exclusive loot and challenging battles.
  • New Monster Faction: The Hamförir – A new enemy faction introducing additional strategic challenges.
  • Gameplay Tutorial – A structured tutorial ensures new players grasp core mechanics before entering the fray.

Bug Fixes and Quality of Life Enhancements

  • Bug Fixes – Various inconsistencies and technical issues have been addressed.
  • Improved Movement – Reduced input lag and jitter for a smoother experience.
  • Revamped HP System and Shields – Health is now segmented, and shields have been redesigned for clearer combat strategy.
  • Better Match Pacing and Map Balance – Adjustments to loot distribution, enemy placement, and player count for improved engagement.
  • Combat Improvements – Reduced input lag for abilities, alongside initial balance tweaks to ensure fairer encounters.

Closed Alpha 1 Results

The first Closed Alpha test, held in January, saw over 1,400 account registrations, with more than 1,100 of them actively taking part. Key statistics from the test include:

  • 500+ gameplay sessions recorded
  • Average of 2.2 player kills per session
  • 2,156 successful extractions
  • Fastest extraction completed in 1 minute and 30 seconds

The studio has expressed appreciation for the community’s engagement and feedback, which will continue to shape Project Pantheon‘s development.
