Australian-Made MMO Loftia Reveals ‘Neighborhoods’ Feature in New Trailer

-

Sydney-based indie studio Qloud Games has introduced a new feature for its upcoming solarpunk MMO Loftia. Presented during the Wholesome Snack: The Game Awards Edition showcase, the ‘Neighborhoods’ feature allows players to connect their floating islands into small communities anchored around a shared hub. The feature is designed to support activities such as farming, crafting, hosting events, and socialising. This can be done spontaneously with either friends, or via matchmaking.

You can see this feature in action via the below ‘Feature Trailer’:

The announcement follows Loftia’s successful Kickstarter campaign, which raised over USD $1.2 million. Loftia incorporates a range of gameplay elements such as farming, fishing, cooking, decorating, and community projects, alongside social activities like group adventures and clubs.

Discussing the project, co-founders Michael Su and Martina Qin shared:

Loftia is our love letter to the classic online worlds that brought so many of us together. There’s something truly special about the nostalgic charm of early online games—the way they’ve connected people and sparked so many lifelong friendships. With Loftia, and with our new ‘Neighborhoods’ feature, we’re excited for players to rediscover the joy of shared online experiences.
