Following the recent announcement of rice and spinach as crops, GIANTS Software has revealed two additional crops being introduced for the first time in Farming Simulator 25: peas and green beans. From 12 November, virtual farmers will have the opportunity to grow a total of 25 different crops, in addition to various tree species and greenhouse vegetables.
In the latest update, peas and green beans have different requirements to be harvested successfully. Peas are planted in March, while green beans follow a month later in April. Both crops take around four months to mature, with peas being ready for harvest between July and October, and green beans between August and December. Farmers will rely on advanced harvesting machinery like the OXBO EPD540E, a self-propelled pea harvester, to ensure a productive season.
Alongside these new crops, GIANTS Software has provided additional details about rice and spinach. Rice, including long-grain varieties, requires unique water management techniques, with fields prepared as paddies to ensure water retention. Spinach offers a faster-paced challenge, as it can be harvested twice in a season but must be sold immediately after harvest, as it quickly perishes.
Despite the coincidental crop count aligning with the game’s title, the developer notes this was not intentional.
Farming Simulator 25 is set for release on 12 November 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gaming platforms.
