Continuing its regular update cycle after HoYoverse released the game a couple of months back, Zenless Zone Zero is set to receive its Version 1.2 update on 25 September 2024, titled Tour de Inferno. This update will see players explore the desolate Outer Ring of New Eridu alongside members of the Sons of Calydon faction, embarking on a high-octane motorcycle ride through the barren outskirts. This new update will also introduce an arcade game, TV mode optimizations, and updates to the time and stamina systems, aiming to enhance the player experience.
The Outer Ring is a remote and underdeveloped area outside downtown New Eridu. Rich in fuel resources, this region often becomes a hotbed of tension and conflict. In this update, players will team up with Caesar, Burnice, and other Sons of Calydon members to take on their rivals, The Vanquishers, and their leader, Overlord Pompey. Proxies will also be able to play as Caesar and Burnice, two powerful S-Rank Agents introduced in this version… should luck shine upon them in their respective banners.
Caesar, the leader of the Sons of Calydon, is an S-Rank Physical Defense Agent known for her shield buffs and high-damage defensive abilities. Burnice, an S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent, specialises in fire damage and inflicts Burn status on enemies with her dual flamethrowers. No new A-Rank characters have been confirmed for this update. Another addition to the Sons of Calydon, the S-Rank Bangboo Red Moccus, will join the battle with a customised Bangboo motorcycle.
Alongside these new characters, players can enjoy the new arcade game “Bizarre Brigade” at Godfinger, a survival shooting roguelike where they can unlock different characters and tackle various challenges. In addition, a new gameplay mode, the Investigator Training Course at HIA, will provide opportunities to improve combat skills and level up characters more quickly.
On the optimisations side of the update, many changes are being implemented to improve the overall game experience. Players will now be able to automatically gather all Observation Data and rewards on the TV board using the AI assistant FAIRY. Other enhancements include improved animations, a more fluid experience in Chapter 4, and the ability to preset combat lineups and freely adjust the in-game time. Additionally, a Backup Battery Charge feature will offer extra stamina to help players progress.
Zenless Zone Zero is now available to download on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android platforms, and is a free-to-play “gacha” supported “urban fantasy ARPG”.
