The next chapter of ZeniMax Online Studios’ and Bethesda Softworks’ online game The Elder Scrolls Online is now live. Titled The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, this expansion is now available for the PC and Mac as paid content, and introduces approximately 30 hours of new main quest content set in the new zone of West Weald. This is in addition to new features such as the Scribing System, and a new Daedric Prince. For those playing on consoles, the expansion will be releasing a couple of weeks from now, on 18 June 2024.
More information on the new content in this expansion can be found below:
Scribing System
The Scribing system, introduced with Gold Road, allows players to craft and customise their abilities using unique scripts to match their playstyle and build. This system offers increased power, versatility, and roleplay opportunities, making it a significant addition to the game.
West Weald Zone
Gold Road takes players to West Weald, a wealthy Imperial province last seen in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The zone includes the city of Skingrad, the Gold Road region, and Dawnwood. Players will encounter new side quests, world bosses, delves, public dungeons, and more.
New Features and Rewards
The chapter also brings new Achievements, items, and collectibles, including ten powerful item sets, three unique Mythic items, fragments for a new Tales of Tribute patron deck, and a new collectible type called Skill Styles. Additionally, there is a new 12-player group trial, Lucent Citadel, featuring a Daedric vault within Fargrave and unique boss encounters.
Free Update 42
While much of the above is part of The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road paid expansion, all players will gain access to a few perks from the newest game patch: Update 42. In-game mail receives an overhaul focused on its interface and notifications, including the addition of categories (player mail, system mail, and system alerts), improved sorting, attachment preview, and inventory space display. Update 42 also introduces the Adventure Across a Decade Achievement, celebrating ESO’s 10-Year Anniversary by granting the “Fractured Glory” skin for completing questlines spanning some of ESO’s most memorable adventures to date, including Gold Road.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is now available as part of multiple paid editions on the PC and Mac. More information on the different versions available to players can be found via the ESO official website.
