Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, previously exclusive to PlayStation platforms, is actively being ported across to the Windows PC and will be available from Friday 17 May 2024. This marks the first time a title from Sucker Punch Productions has been brought across to the PC (the only non-PlayStation game they ever developed being Rocket: Robot on Wheels for the Nintendo 64 back in the late-90s), and is being brought across via a collaborative effort with Nixxes, who has worked on many past PS4/PS5 to PC ports.
The PC edition encompasses the original game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative multiplayer mode, Legends. Nixxes has dedicated the past year to adapting the Sucker Punch in-house engine for PC, incorporating features like unlocked frame rates, diverse graphics settings, and customizable controls for mouse and keyboard.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC strives to support ultrawide monitors, offering players a cinematic view of its vast landscapes and historic sites. It is optimized for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions and can accommodate up to 48:9 resolutions for setups with three monitors. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC also seeks to intergrate the latest in performance technology, including NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3, Intel XeSS upscaling, and options for enhancing image quality with NVIDIA DLAA or FSR 3 Native AA.
For controls, the game provides extensive support, including Steam Input for remapping and customizing peripherals. It also supports the PlayStation DualSense controller, enabling haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for an immersive gameplay experience.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is available for wishlist and pre-purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Early in-game unlocks such as a New Game+ Horse, Traveller’s Attire, and Broken Armor dyes from Baku’s shop are available for those who pre-purchase the game.
Commenting on the news, Sucker Punch Productions Co-Founder, Brian Fleming, shared:
We’re proud to announce that our friends and partners over at Nixxes are bringing Ghost of Tsushima to PC! This is a first for Sucker Punch – all our previous work is console-exclusive, so we are excited about all this and Nixxes was the right team to do this project. With them on board, we knew the results would be nothing short of amazing! Now excuse me as I go order a Super Ultra Wide monitor!
