A few days ago, a classification summary posted by the Australian Classifications Board indicated that Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy was in development. This came as quite the surprise, given that no word on a sequel had been made either in Western markets or Japan up until that point. A sign of things to come, official confirmation was made through yesterday’s Nintendo Mini Direct conference.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is in-development by Gust for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC platforms. As its title implies, this is a direct sequel to 2019’s Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, and marks the first time in series history that a protagonist takes on the lead in more than a single game.
More information about Atelier Ryza 2 is due to be announced on 29 July 2020.
