English Release Date Confirmed for Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? – Infinite Combate

Go explorin' some dungeons in August!

Based on the anime adaptation of Fujino Oomori’s light novel Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (ダンジョンに出会いを求めるのは間違っているだろうか), Infinite Combate is an action RPG developed by MAGES which encompasses events from the first anime season along with its game-exclusive narrative.

Western publisher PQube has recently confirmed that the game will be headed to western markets from 7 August 2020 in PAL Regions and 11 August 2020 in the North American Markets. The release date is simultaneous across all three platforms: physically and digitally on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and digital-only on the PC via Steam.

Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? – Infinite Combate is set in a fantasy realm where gods have limited their divine powers in search of excitement and to experience the hardships of the lower world. To interact with humans, each deity has founded a Familia, which are groups that adventurers can join to socialise and support each other, before they set out into the dangerous labyrinth called Dungeon.

One of them is Bell Cranel, the main character of DanMachi’s story. As the only follower of the Hestia Familia, he has it a bit harder than the others, but strives to improve himself!

The gameplay offered in Infinite Combate does not appear to test the boundaries of the action RPG genre too much. It is described as a mix between “dungeon crawling with RPG elements and a visual novel-style story”. On the RPG side of things, players will be able to tackle procedurally generated ‘Extra Dungeons’ outside of the main story campaign, while those more keen on the visual novel mechanics can enjoy learning more about the game’s characters through Date Events.
