Borderlands 3 Finally Releases on Steam Store Today, Following Six Months Exclusivity on Epic Games Store 1

Six months after first hitting store shelves worldwide on 13 September 2020, 2K Games along with developer Gearbox Software have confirmed Steam’s official availability via Steam. This follows a six-month exclusive with the Epic Games Store, meaning that those wanting to consolidate all their PC digital purchases in one single library were unable to, which was subject to a lot of controversy at the time.

Available for the PC, 2K Games will be offering limited-time deals on all three digital variants of the game – Standard ($29.99 USD or local equivalent), Deluxe ($39.99 USD or local equivalent) and Super Deluxe ($49.99 USD or local equivalent). Those who purchase the game prior to 1 April 2020 at 10am PDT will also be able to nab themselves a complementary Gold Weapons Skin Pack.

The Steam version of Borderlands 3 includes all of Borderlands 3’s updates and bonus add-on content to date, including Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite. Those who purchase the Borderlands 3 Season Pass or Super Deluxe Edition can also immediately access the first paid campaign expansion, Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot.

This release also marks the beginning of PC Cross-Play between Steam and Epic Games variants of the game. Borderlands 3 PC players can add friends to their Friends Lists, join co-op parties, and play together online regardless of which PC platform each player is using. Additional features are due to be rolled out over coming weeks, including the ability to mail weapons between the two platforms.
