In 2013 and 2015 two TV anime seasons adapting the work of Atto’s original manga Non Non Biyori were aired in Japan. Both of these were later picked up by North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks and released both digitally and physically – even through neither were high profile enough to justify an English dub. However there was a feature film released in 2018 which remained unlicensed, and after a year post-release it was looking like it may have been looked over… until now.
Sentai Filmworks have this week confirmed they now hold the rights to Non Non Biyori Movie: Vacation, for release in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa. It has been confirmed that distribution will be through digital and home video outlets at a date yet to be confirmed.
Produced by animation studio Silver Link and directed by Shinya Kawatsura; Non Non Biyori Movie: Vacation see’s the original voice cast return including: Kotori Koiwai as Renge Miyauchi, Rie Murakawa as Hotaru Ichijou, Ayane Sakura as Natsumi Koshigaya and Kana Asumi as Komari Koshigaya.
