Final Fantasy XV Releases Continue With New 'Royal Edition' in March on PS4, Xbox One 1

More than a year has passed since the previously long-awaited RPG Final Fantasy XV hit store shelves. Development has continued on the game since launch with character-oriented downloadable content and a season pass, and provided you nabbed yourself a copy during one of the recent sales, it was very affordable to pick up a copy of the core title and its season pass. But new releases are almost upon us, with Square Enix confirming that both the game’s PC release and the launch of a new ‘Royal Edition’ will be made available from March 6 2018.

The ‘Royal Edition’ will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These special editions feature both the main game and “over 20 game add-ons / DLC” and new features including an expanded map of Insomnia with new enemies and side quests, and a first-person camera mode. Promoted features of this edition can be found below:

There are some substantial additions in this Royal Edition. Square Enix will be releasing a downloadable ‘Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack’ onto the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace, which contains all previously unreleased content, accessible to existing players. It is implied that this will be a paid pack, but it is unclear how much it will cost.

Simultaneously with the Royal Edition on consoles, Square Enix will be releasing their ‘Windows Edition’ of Final Fantasy XV for PCs.
