Providing specifics surrounding what was now previously known as “Project Scorpio”, Microsoft have used their E3 2017 press conference to announce the consoles proper title – Xbox One X. Claiming it to be the “world’s most powerful console”, Microsoft have announced that the new console version will be available in all Xbox One markets from November 7th 2017, retailing at $649 AUD.
Specifically mentioning that the console will come “with 40 percent more power than any other console”, offering support for “better textures”, “smoother framerates” and “faster load times”. Those with a 4K television are also set to benefit, with support for 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray X and streamed content.
Similar to the PlayStation 4 Pro launched by Sony Interactive Entertainment last year, the Xbox One X is not a new generation of gaming platform. Instead, it is built to co-exist with the currently released Xbox One and Xbox One S. While time will tell if this changes, there is no indication that games will be exclusively released for the Xbox One X either.
