[E3 2017] [Announcement] Dragon Ball Z to Receive 2D Fighting Game in Early 2018

Following their work on the ‘Xenoverse’ series which brought the Dragon Ball Z combat to life in a 3D environment, Bandai Namco have confirmed they will be offering a new, “classic”, Dragon Ball Z fighting game to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Titled Dragon Ball FighterZ, this is expected to launch on all platforms sometime in Early-2018.

Developed by 2D fighting game veterans Arc System Works, the creative team are setting out to deliver “an explosive, action-packed game that combines classic 2D fighting visuals with advanced 3D models which look and feel as if they are ripped straight out of the DRAGON BALL anime series”.

The goal of this game is to give fans of all skill levels an opportunity to feel like their favourite character from the series. Combat will be 3 vs 3, and there are indications there will be a good number of characters from the series to bring into battle.

A PlayStation 4 and Xbox One closed beta is set to precede the official launch, with more information to be announced at a later date.
