Uncharted Franchise is Not Over Yet, Standalone Game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Announced

For approximately a decade now across two console generations, we have followed the journey of Nathan Drake as he hunts for ancient treasure and finds himself in many precarious situations. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End marked an end to the journey of Drake. But there are undoubtedly many other interesting characters across the four main games which could deserve a game of their own. With a focus on the “smooth-talking master thief” Chloe Frazer, Naughty Dog used PlayStation Experience (PSX) to announce that development is underway for a standalone Uncharted game titled Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

The PlayStation 4 exclusive title was unveiled with the above nine minute trailer, which showcases an early section of the game where Chloe finds herself in a war-torn city, to meet with her partner, Nadine Ross (Who was first introduced in Uncharted 4). According to Creative Director Shaun Escayg in a post on the official PlayStation Blog: ”We wanted this adventure to feature all of the hallmarks of the series, from cinematic storytelling set within exotic destinations, to dynamic combat and intricate puzzles”.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be available for purchase both digitally and physically sometime in the future. However, you may not need to pay any extra for the game. Those who own either the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Explorer’s Pack for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will receive a download copy of the game for free at launch. The standard retail price is currently unknown.
