Microsoft have announced that pre-orders for Gears of War 4 on the Xbox One are now being taken, through both their official channels and participating retailers. This third-person shooter is the latest instalment in the Gears of War franchise, developed by The Coalition, which will be available on store shelves starting October 11th 2016. However, as with most major game releases… there isn’t just one edition of Gears of War 4 you can purchase.

For those after the core Gears of War 4 experience, it will be possible to purchase the Standard Edition for $99.99 AUD. This will grant you access to the main game when it launches on the 11th.

For those looking to nab themselves something special and willing to spend $40 extra to do so, you might be more interested in the Ultimate Edition. Priced at $139.95 AUD, the set will grant you a copy of the game in addition to the following extras:

  • The Gears of War 4 Season Pass, which includes:
    • Exclusive Vintage VIP Pack featuring Vintage JD and two Vintage weapon skins
    • Permanent access to 24 additional DLC maps (two per month for a year), which can be used for private play on dedicated servers.
    • An exclusive Developer Playlist which grants access to new maps, modes and features that can be tested prior to broad release.
    • Six Gear Packs (Which unlock character and weapon skins, emblems, equipment and boosts).
  • A limited edition SteelBook
  • Early Access to Gears of Ear 4 on Friday October 7 2016 – four days before the game’s worldwide launch.

Fans who pre-order either edition of Gears of War 4 will receive the pre-order exclusive Vintage Del Gear Pack featuring a Vintage Del character model, emblem, two Vintage weapon skins and a special Vintage Del bounty as an added bonus.
