As with many major video game releases with an online multiplayer component nowadays, DOOM is set to receive a Closed Beta test prior to its May 13 2016 launch. Developer id Software and publisher Bethesda Softworks have confirmed that the beta will begin on March 31st and run until April 3rd.
This beta test is being run on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so players of one console won’t miss out on their chance to get involved in the testing. It will be available to those who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order and redeemed their beta code. More information on this test and the ability to participate can be found HERE. There has been no confirmation on if or when there will be an open beta test everyone can enjoy.
The closed beta test for DOOM features a limited feature set, giving you a taste of what’s to come but still leaving much to explore come launch. This test will feature two maps (Heatwave and Infernal), two multiplayer game modes (6×6 Team Deathmatch and Warpath) and a limited range of weaponry and other equipment.
