The 20th Anniversary Year of Pokemon to See New Game Duo Released – Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon

-

It has been a couple of years since we saw the newest non-remake Pokemon games released on store shelves, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. Given this is the 20th Anniversary year for the long-running RPG franchise, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have unveiled that a new duo of games will be available for purchase by the end of 2016. These games will be known as Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

More information about these games will obviously be announced in the coming months, however one of the game’s currently announced features is that it will be accessible to many more players from around the globe. It will now be playable in nine different languages, including: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

It has also been confirmed that the game will feature Pokemon Bank support, meaning you will be able to transfer Pokemon you caught in the 3DS virtual console versions of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow onto either of these two games. This will be accomplished by an upcoming Pokemon Bank update. Sadly it will likely be wishful thinking that Nintendo DS released games such as Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver and Pokemon Black/White will receive similar treatment – meaning that at least one release in every Pokemon journey will receive such treatment via the Pokemon Bank.

For now, enjoy the teaser trailer above, and expect to hear more soon!
