Ubisoft to Bring New Life to Tetris on Next Generation Consoles

Tetris, like other classic video game franchises such as Space Invaders never seem to vanish from the gaming industry and always manage to make an appearance on each generation of video game console. Ubisoft have just confirmed that they are teaming up with The Tetris Company to developer the iconic franchise for digital channels on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for future release.

The Tetris franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2014 and has sold hundreds of millions of units worldwide across more than 50 different platforms since its launch in 1984. Tetris-branded products are available in more than 50 languages and in 185 countries around the world.

Keep an eye on The Otaku’s Study in coming months for more information on their plans.

We’re very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand, and can’t wait to combine Ubisoft’s expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.

Founder of The Otaku's Study. I have been exploring this labyrinth of fandom these last fourteen years, and still nowhere close to the exit yet. Probably searching for a long time to come.
